FAQs & Eligibility
FAQs
Why was The Primary Project created?
The Primary Project was created to support the CREC Open Choice students that attend Wethersfield High School.

CREC Choice students do not have access to local scholarship opportunities due to technicalities. However, we decided to create a new opportunity for CREC students who are valuable to our community.
Who are the CREC Open Choice students?
The Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) is an organization that has created cost efficient/high quality programs to meet the needs of people in cities, like Hartford.

The Choice Program was created by CREC with the goal of reducing ethnic, racial, and economic isolation and promote equal education for all. It gives opportunities to Hartford students to study in suburban schools, such as Wethersfield, and vice versa.
Who's running The Primary Project?
The Primary Project is run by five Wethersfield High School graduates. To learn more about who we are, visit our meet the team section!

ABOUT THE PROGRAM
What is The Primary Project scholarship?
The Primary Project's scholarship is a fund created specifically for graduating CREC Open Choice students at Wethersfield High School. The scholarship is based on our Primary Pillars: community, advocacy, and culture. We choose our recipients on these three categories.
How to apply?
In our first year, we plan to distribute grants instead of scholarships. Graduating students who are part of the CREC Choice program and attending a post secondary institution or trade school can apply.

The application can be completed virtually through a Google Form and through printable copies that are available on the Apply Now page and soon at Wethersfield High school Guidance Counselor offices .
